The company claimed incomplete tests were falsely approved by employees.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced this week that it has opened an investigation into manufacturing inspections of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner airplanes.
Boeing has received scrutiny after a number of malfunctions in various commercial passenger planes and the recent deaths of two company whistleblowers. The company has claimed that recurring issues among its fleet may be due to individual employee misconduct during the manufacturing process, citing potential neglect during final plane inspections.
The FAA is following up on these claims, investigating whether Boeing completed the inspections for 787 Dreamliner airplanes “and whether company employees may have falsified aircraft records.” The agency also added that “at the same time, Boeing is reinspecting all 787 airplanes still within the production system and must also create a plan to address the in-service fleet.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker as he heads the investigation into Boeing’s claims.
- For FAA and NTSB officials as they seek to ensure the safety of air travel in the United States.
